Maine Tree Farm has new developments with the exciting new Tree Farm Peer Network! This month, the Maine Tree Farm Coordinator Kelly French hosted the first Peer Network orientation session, thus officially launching the program. Kelly met with a group of exemplary Peer Mentors who own Tree Farms in Cumberland, Penobscot, and Aroostook County, to talk about the Network and methods to engage with fellow landowners across the spectrum of forest stewardship. While landowner goals and objectives vary, there is a place for all those interested in sustainable forest management within the Maine Tree Farm Program, and our Peer Mentors are here to talk to anyone who wants to learn more.

The Peer Network will promote connections and establish relationships between Tree Farmer Peer Mentors and fellow landowners who want to learn more about sustainable forest management, and what it means to be part of Tree Farm. Furthermore, the Network will increase accessibility to the Maine Tree Farm Program for new and experienced landowners alike. If you are a Tree Farmer who is interested in becoming a Peer Mentor yourself, or if you are a landowner who would like to connect with a Peer Mentor in your area, please reach out to Kelly for more information at kelly@mainetree.org or by calling 207-621-9872.
